About Active Weston

Active Weston encourages active participation in sport and leisure activities by people of all ages and abilities in the Weston and Newbridge area of Bath.

There is a big opportunity to encourage more varied uses of Weston Rec, including installing new facilities; alongside making maximum use of the newly restored ballcourt at Weston Hub; and encouraging other sports and leisure activities in the area.

Active Weston brings together local residents to help make this happen. A recent survey about future facilities and activities on Weston Rec has been completed by hundreds of local people and families, who have contributed many suggestions and ideas.

Active Weston has 4 main objectives...

To encourage the development of local teams and training for different sports and activities, with a particular emphasis on younger people, using local facilities wherever possible.
To research the desire for installing new facilities on Weston Rec that will enable participation by people of all ages and abilities to engage in sport and leisure activities, and then to work with BANES Council on plans for installing them.
To provide a directory for showcasing all the opportunities for engaging in sports and leisure activities in the Weston and Newbridge area.
To organise events that bring local people together to enjoy sports and leisure activities.
